What is Counselling?

People seek counselling for many different reasons. Perhaps following a crisis, trauma or loss or when they’re facing emotional or relationship difficulties. Some may be experiencing an underlying sense of dissatisfaction, ‘stuckness’ or lack of balance in their lives, or may be struggling with depression, anxiety or stress. For others, feelings of confusion, compulsion, hopelessness or despair may be overwhelming.



Whatever your reasons for coming to counselling I offer a
warm welcome and a safe, empathic and confidential space in which to explore what’s really going on for you. Some things can feel too difficult or painful to share with those close to you. As a counsellor I am not here to judge, advise or tell you what to do, but to listen and to work with you to help you find your own answers. In this way, counselling can support and enhance your personal insight, growth and learning and help you to find new more satisfying ways of making sense of your world.
